We have lots going on at Easton Community Centre, if you are interested in running a group or workshop please do get in touch – we would love to hear from you!

 

 

 

 

Parent and Toddler group : Mondays 9.30 – 11.30

Run by local parents

Come along to the centre and use our hall and toys to meet other parents and let the kids play!

The group is completely led by parents and cost £1.50 per child.

Ladies Only Self Defence Class: Monday 7.15 – 8.30pm

Run by Hannah

Stand Strong ladies only classes…I am bringing strength training using kettle bells and body weight, and self defence via a system called krav maga to Bristol. It is a great way to feel stronger, feel more confident, feel fitter, but most of all FEEL SAFER.

£11 pay as you go or £10 monthly. There is concession available for NHS staff and those on benefits. The classes will be on Move GB hopefully too.

Conversational ESOL : Tuesdays 10.00am – 11.00am

Conversational ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Hatha yoga: Tuesday 6 – 7pm

Run by Louisa

Hatha is the core of yoga, beginning with the key 12 poses, which are developed and extended with alternative and more challenging poses. Through the poses and working with the breath, specifically focusing on diaphragmatic breathing you can massage and tone both the muscles and the organs. It is important to work to your own ability and just come and enjoy it for yourself, time to ignore everyone else and focus on just what you are doing!

Easton Community Choir: Tuesdays 7.30pm – 9pm ***BACK IN SEPTEMBER***

Run by Shelia Tang

Easton Community Choir is a fun, friendly and vibrant mixed a cappella choir based in Bristol, and is directed by its leader Sheila Tang. The choir welcomes both beginners and experienced singers, and is an open access choir so there are no auditions to join.
The choir sings a wide repertoire ranging from Eastern European harmonies, Maori, African, Shape note, uplifting Gospel, Folk, Pop and modern spiritual songs. The choir sings for the pure pleasure and love of singing and performs occasionally throughout the year.
Sheila Tang is a qualified teacher, experienced workshop and choral director. She is based in Bristol but offers events around the UK and runs workshops at many summer events such as Sunrise Festival, Glastonbury, Rainbow Futures camps, The Music Camp, the Green Gathering and local festivals and Arts Trails.

 

Evergreen Over 60’s club : Wednesday’s 1.00pm – 3.30pm

A weekly afternoon social group for over 60s attended by people from many different ethnic backgrounds. Various activities including six coach daytrips per year, an annual Harvest Thanksgiving and a bring & buy sale. There is also weekly bingo and raffle.

Sewing group: Wednesday 11.30 – 1.30pm

Run by Bristol Health Trainers

Come and improve your health and wellbeing, by joining the sewing group. Join us if you want to keep calm, learn how to amend clothes, to de-stress, and to meet new people.

Drama Worshop (term time only) Wednesday 4.00 – 6.00pm

Easton Food Assembly: Wednesday 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Every week you’ll find the very best local and sustainably produced fare: vegetables; fruit; meat; eggs; dairy products; honey; preserves; soaps; creams; balms and more. Come and meet the farmers, growers and makers and enjoy a new way to eat well while supporting local, sustainable agriculture.
The online market will be open for you to browse, order and pay for your groceries between Thursday and Monday every week. The weekly collection market where you will meet the producers and pick up your shopping will be held on a Wednesday evening from 5.30-7pm at Easton Community Centre. There will be food and drink for sale in the cafe every week so bring all the family!
The Food Assembly is not just a market place but an opportunity for community to come together, share food and ideas and establish a connection to our food source.

Vinyasa Yoga: Wednesday 6.30 – 7.30pm

SwingTrain is a swing dance inspired workout programme that brings the joy, fun and community feeling of swing dancing to the gym!

Women’s only Pilates: Thursday 2.00 -3.00pm

Run by Bristol Health Trainers

A lovely women’s only Pilates class run in our main hall.

Local veg and food Box collection : 4 – 7pm Thursday’s.

Run by Real Economy and Leigh Court Farm

Zumba with Dayna John : 18:30 – 19:30 Thursday’s

The ultimate dance fitness party that beats a boring old workout anyday!

Toddler Music Group run by Dandelion Music : 13:00 – 13:30 ***BACK IN SEPTEMBER***

Musical experiences for pre-schoolers, each week is a new adventure. Explore amazing instruments, sing songs, and perform fun actions. Led by community musician and former teacher Andrew Lawrence.
£3 per child for the half hour session and £2 for additional siblings.
Recommended age 2-5, although younger children and babies are also very welcome.
New start time of 1pm – the 45 minutes sessions include 15 minutes free play with instruments and 30 minute structured session.

  1. Hello. Re: Monstor Soccer. Please could you / David let me know whether it’s possible just to turn up on a Friday for this? My little boy is 3 in November and this sounds great for him. Many thanks.

    • Hi there Kelly! It is totally fine just to turn up for this – David is back next week for a new term of Monster soccer. I am sure your little boy will love it!

    • Hi – there are some yoga mats here, it might behelpful to bring your own for the first session then check with the teachers as to whether you need to bring it or not next time.

    • I am afriad we are not running any kid related activites this easter. You may want to check out Felix Road Adventrue playground though as they have lots on over Easter.
